My Mom's all came together this past Friday at Edisto, for a very special
weekend. Charlotte and Ramelle met me at Main's Market, where
we ate some yummy Tarragon Chicken Wrap and Shrimp Salad
Sandwiches for lunch! Jenn, Maybelle and Sarhi finished
off our group for that night, when Ramelle fixed a wonderful
Chicken Pot Pie for supper.
God sorta knows when we need these times together, and he draws
just the ones who can come. Ofcourse we missed Nellah;Arnett and
Della coming this time!
Karen drove down from Columbia on Saturday, and we piled into
Jenn's wagon and cruised out to Botony Bay, where we were
treated to a tour of this pristine area, and the names of different
Conch Shells! Each Mom's took a picture of her child's name that
she had written in the sand.
This was a beautiful time of remembering, and was one of the most
beautiful places we have ever seen!
God seems to give us different moments in time where we can share
about our children, and how special they still are. God always carries
us through! We watched Tear Soup; ate some of Sarhi's authentic
Cuban Sandwiches, and bid "goodbye" to Karen, who had to
drive back to Columbia that afternoon.(This is always sad!)
These weekends are an extension of the body of Christ in the most
beautiful way. I tell you some of the things we do, so you can feel
that extension too, and pray for us when we come together.
These Mom's experience God's healing even through these fun
times, because they are with other Mom's who love them, unconditionally.....
Just like Christ!
It doesn't matter to us, how their child died; just that we miss them!
Some regular Mom's couldn't come this time, and it's like part of us is
missing, but when new ones come in ,they help us to make a fresh start!
This God of ours in so wonderful to give us this joyful
weekend, and He is such a God of continuation, that He will even let a few of us
sing together in the choir later in the week!

Friday,September 19th found six of us coming together at Edisto, in some very blustery weather, but weather that looked like it was going to turn out nice, and sunny in the end! After all the rain and snow we've had, we were glad too!
Ramelle, and Charlotte met Becky at Main's Market on Friday for lunch, and enjoyed the shrimp salad and the Tarragon Chicken Wrap along with Miss Mary.Later that afternoon,Jenn and Maybelle rolled in and we feasted on Ramelle's Chicken Pot Pie.
Sarhi came in after supper and we sat around sharing everything until the late hours! Each lady opened their pillowcases from Mar and their gifties on the table.
The next"late" morning,we indulged in Sean's Blueberry Buckle, and Jenn's Sausage Casserole.Karen drove down from Columbia and we drove out to Botony Bay,where Bess took us on a tour! We wrote the names of our children in the sand, and walked forever on the most pristine piece of beach, ever!We finished with a drive around the rest of the Bay area, and then home,to some of Sarhi's authentic Cuban Sandwiches;fruit, and that absolutely wonderful dark Chocolate Torte!
(Thanks Jo Massey)Afterwards Karen drove home and we watched a Chonda Pierce DVD,and some of the Olympics.Jenn and Sarhi acted like nuts, but then Mom's who have given a child back to God have permission to act that way!
We heal in most unusual ways, hut we heal, with God's help!
These weekends are a time together that are so helpful and meaningful.A time where God brings healing to the broken hearts of some hurting Mom's who still miss their children....
